The Birth of Venus

The Birth of Venus is the most famous work of the Renaissance painter Sandro Botticelli.
Venus is portrayed nude on a seashell, covering her breasts and pubis in a modest attitude.
To her left, Zephyrus, God of Wind together with Chloris, Goddess of Flowers. On the right, the servant Ora, who waits for the Goddess to dress her.

The Medici commissioned this work to Botticelli between 1482-1485 and since 1815 it has been exhibited in the Uffizi Gallery.

I have embroidered the hair, the flowers and some details of this magnificent work, which represents the birth of love and spiritual beauty as the driving force of life.
